Kevin Oliver
President & Founder
Kevin started his career in tax while attending the University of North Texas. One evening in the Spring of 2003, he was at Chili’s having dinner with his older brother Mike, a well-respected CPA who owned a practice in Rockwall, TX. Over chips & salsa, Mike offered Kevin a job at his tax practice as a bookkeeper/tax preparer. From there, the rest was history.
After having spent many years in tax, Kevin discovered a passion for entrepreneurs that led him to start a new tax practice. After working with one of the largest BBQ restaurant chains in North Texas as their fractional CFO, an idea sparked that transformed his business from a traditional tax/bookkeeping firm into a tax advisory practice. Being more involved with clients on a CFO-like platform gives him a great deal of joy, which is how Oliver Tax Group was born.
Kevin and his wife Angela live in Rockwall, TX. They have three children, one boy and two girls, who attend Heritage Christian Academy. Music is at the heart of their home, with Kevin actively playing trumpet in the Dallas music scene and his wife who is an all-star piano & clarinet player. He shares his wife’s passion for last minute vacations, Universal Studios, & Harry Potter.
Mackenzie Kasterke, CPA
Tax Manager
Mackenzie grew up in McKinney, Texas. She started her accounting career at Texas Tech University where she graduated in 2018 with her Bachelors in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Tax. Upon graduation, she married her husband and lived in Lubbock, Texas where she worked at a CPA firm as a tax preparer for a diverse client base. In September 2019, she achieved the highest certification in tax and obtained her CPA license. Mackenzie and her husband moved back home to DFW to rejoin her family, and that is when she met our firm. With extensive tax knowledge, a passion for helping others, and a warm & welcoming personality, she is a superstar here at our firm as part of our Tax Advisory Team.
Mackenzie loves spending time with her husband and two dogs, Golden Retriever Missy and Border Collie mix Oakley. She and her husband fostered dogs with a local rescue in Lubbock, where they met Oakely, a foster who quickly became family. She also enjoys exercising and has ran 4 half marathons, 3 of which have been with her husband. She, too, loves Harry Potter which makes her a great fit for the team.
Corinne Alonzo
Accounting Director, CFO
Corinne came to our firm all the way from Hawaii where she had worked in areas of tax & high-level financial reporting. She grew up in Honolulu, then moved to the lush green part of the island after she got married. We all feel so sorry for her to have grown up in such a horrible climate and welcome her to the lovely Texas heat.
She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a BBA in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in 2001. She then moved to Texas in October 2021 and became a member of the firm. With a vast tax knowledge, she specializes in financial statement analysis and tax return preparation. Going beyond the financial statements, Corinne takes a CFO approach to help our clients see their business in unique ways.
Corinne and her husband live in Heath, TX with their daughter. Corinne has a passion for Asian food (mainly Japanese and Korean), which fits perfectly here in the diverse culinary melting pot of our firm. She loves cooking, baking, watching K-dramas and taking her dogs on walks. Her positive attitude and uplifting spirit are a blessing to all of us and our clients.
Ann Macon
Controller, Financial Reporting
Ann has over 30 years’ experience in the world of bookkeeping and financial reporting, starting with her first job at a reprographics company while going to school to get her accounting degree. She has worked in several different industries, but most of her experience is in construction. She is passionate about helping small businesses set up their processes correctly from the start and getting business owners the information they need to grow and be successful. In her free, time Ann likes to hang out with her husband, two grandchildren or her six children. She also has a boxer mix named Chloe and a dachshund named Pudge. Go Texas Rangers!
Angela Oliver
Project Coordinator
Angela graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2006 with her BA in music. After teaching for a few years, she joined the family accounting business in 2009. She started as an office manager and soon became the payroll administrator for the firm. Her role then expanded into a bookkeeping position, where she assisted in financial statement reporting. After working full-time for many years, running hundreds of payrolls, preparing financials for our clients, and answering thousands of calls, Angela took some time off to take care of her growing family.
A few years later, Angela returned to work for Oliver Tax Group and now serves as Project Coordinator. With her experience in working for the family business, she provides incredible insight to the direction of the firm (which is a must when you’re married to the firm owner). Angela is a second-generation Korean American, as her mother came to the US from Korea as a teenager. She loves Korean food, the Beatles, Harry Potter, taking random trips to Disney/Universal, and spending quality time with her family.
Samantha Mendoza
Client Relations, Executive Team
Since 2017, Samantha has been a vital part of the Oliver family tax practice. Samantha has taken on numerous responsibilities, becoming proficient in IT support, tax preparation, payroll processing, and various aspects of bookkeeping. She studied Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M Commerce and has a strong technical background.
Samantha resides in Royse City with her family and stays busy as a dedicated mother. She loves shopping, watching movies, vacations to the beach, perfumes and candles for her home and all things that smell heavenly. She loves country and alternative music from the 90’s/2000’s, when she may have gone through a brief “emo phase”. In her leisure time, she enjoys supporting her daughter in cheerleading and her son in baseball, as well as spending quality moments with her husband of 16 years.
Shelby Kindrick
Controller, Financial Reporting
Ten years ago, Shelby started her career as an assistant controller. She transitioned to sales at a lighting wholesaler, where she worked with both homeowners and contractors. She then moved to a turnaround management company where she became a billing specialist while handling various portions of the companies’ books and payroll. In 2020 she joined her family bookkeeping business to manage e-commerce clients. Her skillset in systems like QuickBooks Online is superb, making her a valuable asset to our team. She has two children, four dogs, and enjoys spending time with her family. The labradors are named George and Jake, the German shepherd Charlie, and the Aussie Nymphadora Tonks. Her husband is a huge Harry Potter fan, which allows them to fit in nicely here at the firm.
